Mechanical Preparation

The mechanical preparation is a processing on the surfaces of the floors that allows us to remove polluted layers, stubborn residues of bituminous material, adhesives, elastomeric coatings, etc.
The processing is carried out with different types of sanding, shot-peening or milling machines, with suction of waste dust.
Depending on the substrate and the material to be removed, the most suitable insert and the machinery to be used are chosen.
The preparation is used in multiple situations such as:
to prepare a flooring to be resined,
to lower the level of the pavement,
to increase flatness,
to remove old resin floors,
etc...

Mechanical Preparation: About

For the resining of a pavement a fundamental step is the preparation of the support: the resin, in fact, does not adhere to the smooth areas, but needs a rough surface to cling properly.

Removal of polluted layers

There are two solutions:
- completely remove the floor.
- contact us to mechanically remove the polluted layer.

We advise against the use of acids, which expose people to risks of burns and inhalation of dangerous fumes and irreparably degrade cement. They are difficult to dispose of, tend to damage the substrate by penetrating into cracks or seam lines to the ground and the aquifer. In contact with the cement, they form calcareous salts which over time further damage the flooring.
